We live just down the street from Syracuse High School and I saw an advertisement that the Dance Line was doing a "Mini" Dance Line (or Future) fundraiser where they teach young girls a dance and then they perform it at a football game halftime. I've wanted my girls to do one of these for a long time, so I was excited. I really was wanting it for Aivree since Anisten is in tumbling and dance already. They were pretty excited when I told them about it. I took them to the first practice and they loved it. One of the dancers just loved Aivree and was by her the whole time. They were there for 1 1/2 hours so I was a little nervous, but they did really good. Aivree was excited to show me what she'd learned.
Here's Aivree in her dance outfit after the second practice. She was seriously so excited to go to her "dance class" each day and perform. It was all she talked about the whole week. It made me happy that she enjoyed it so much.
We got there Friday night and I dropped them off in the gym where they would be practicing until halftime. I stayed and watched for a minute and I was glad I did since the performance didn't go as well as I would've liked.
Coming out on the field at halftime. It was a cold night and they were freezing by the time they were done.
There's Aivree with her favorite dance friend (Aivree called her the teacher with the orange hair). Aivree's to the left of the little boy in green, walking backwards
Aivree was on the front row on the left side, so she was pretty easy to see, but Anisten was several rows back on the right side, so it was pretty impossible to see both of them. I tried, and if Anisten wasn't behind a bunch of girls, then I would've been able to see her better.
Aivree waiting for her turn to perform
And here is Aivree performing...kind of. You can see why I wasn't too happy about it. Sorry about the recording. I was trying to see where they were and trying to record and it didn't work well. You can see Ani in the second group, but only if you really know what to look for. She was in the very back.
Ani waiting with her group on the side. She did awesome and of course knew her dance very well. I wish I could've seen her better.
So, it didn't go quite like I'd envisioned it going, but the girls still had fun and that's what's important.
