My little Alivia is four months old now and so much fun! She seriously brings me so much joy, I just feel so blessed she's a part of our family. She has been my best and easiest baby (although I'm sure the experience helps with that). She's so flexible and such an amazing sleeper already. I've got her on a four hour feeding schedule now and she goes to bed at 8 pm. Here are her "stats" from her 4 month appointment:
Weight: 12 lbs 11.5 oz - 30%
Height: 24 1/4 in. - 61%
Head: 16 in. - 41%
When she was younger she'd always do this with her arms/hands when she had a binky in her mouth. Hold them in cute little fists (read on to find out how she occupies those arms now)
All swaddled up taking a good nap, this is back when she would let me swaddle her. I eventually found that she slept really well without being swaddled and she seemed to prefer it that way, so I bought a Sleep Sack for her because she would always kick her blankets off. Now I put her in the Sleep Sack for naps and at night and lay her on her side and she loves it. The past couple of nights she has slept 12-13 hours! I didn't think I'd get that lucky until she was at least six months, but she's doing really well. Her naps are still inconsistent and sometimes pretty short, but I know those will get better the older she gets.
Here she is, waking up happy in her sleep sack
This picture is just too funny, I can't look at it without giggling. She had woke up and I went in to get her and this is what I saw. Two little eyes peeking up at me from a blanket. haha So funny
And of course, I can't get enough of those smiles. She's starting to smile/giggle so easily now. She just loves when someone comes and talks to her so she makes sure to give a big grin
She's talking in this picture. She always gets pretty intense when she has something to say
I just wish I was better at capturing those cute grins
And of course we still love to put things on her head
It's just so funny!
Her first pair of leg warmers. So cute
I love her in this little hat.
Pretty girl
She's also started holding toys lately which has been fun. It gives her something to hold on to and play with. Speaking of holding onto things, she always seems to find my hair and get a lovely death grip on it. It's hard to get those little fingers untwisted from my hair. The girls have discovered this too with their hair. Make sure you don't get too close or she'll get it! She's also super noisy. She likes to use that voice and make all kinds of sounds with it. We love to listen to her giggle and coo and talk and scream (in a good way).
Probably the most major change I've noticed in the past couple weeks is that I have a finger sucker on my hands!!! She must have the nummiest finger ever, because it is always in her mouth. She rarely uses her binky anymore because she's got those lovely fingers (one on both hands!) to keep her happy. So stinkin cute.
It's been really nice for naps/night because when she wakes up for whatever reason, she just starts sucking on her finger and goes right back to sleep. This is a picture of her on our video monitor sucking on that finger.
I love how she sticks it in all the way up to the knuckle sometime
She's starting to get mobile too. She rolls from side to side (not all the way over yet, but she's so close) and somehow moves herself that way. She started out underneath her little toy and this is where she ended up. She's pretty happy about it.
My sweet girl. I just can't get enough of her
Love you Livvy Jane!
