The Best Neighbors

I just wanted to take a minute and write about our good neighbors.  As much fun as it wasn't to build and move and build and move and move and move...we have LOVED living here.  We are happy with our home (and the payment) and we are finally getting the yard established and loving it as well.  And on top of all that, we have the.best.neighbors yet!  Our backyard neighbors are the Stuarts.  Steve and Sam.  They are this wonderful little couple who have become the girls' adopted grandparents.  If any of them steps foot outside and our girls see them (especially Aivree), they run outside screaming their names "Steve and Sam!  Steve and Sam!"  They talk to them and tell them pretty much everything.  Steve always takes them on rides on his golf cart which the girls absolutely LOVE.  That is probably their favorite thing.  They always bring them out candy and popsicles and toys.  They really do spoil our girls in fact, but isn't that what grandparents do?  In the winter, Steve would come plow our driveway and they gave the girls the nicest books and treats for Christmas.  We love talking to them and getting to know them.  Steve had some health issues this past winter and we were all really worried about him and praying for him.  It was so cute to hear the girls praying for Steve.  They are just some of the nicest people you'll ever meet and we feel so lucky to have snuck ourselves into their lives.

To our right, we also have really great neighbors, the Smiths.  Jana, Matt and their three boys (two of which are teenagers).  On Fridays when I have to take Ani to school early, it's always during Alivia's naptime and so I just run her baby monitor over to Jana's salon on the side of her house and she listens to it while I run Ani to school.  It seriously saves so much headache for me and I don't know if she'll ever know how much I appreciate that small gesture.  They are also really helpful with shoveling our driveway in the winter and since I love to bake, I always have a place to take the leftovers where I know they will be devoured and enjoyed. ;)  Jana's become a good friend of mine since she is my visiting teaching partner and I hope it stays that way for a long time.  I like to be somewhat involved in her life and know what's going on.  She's such a nice person and they have been so welcoming to us since we moved in.
So there you have it.   I just wanted to brag for a minute about having the best neighbors around.  Seriously, if it wasn't for the winters, I would never want to live anywhere again.
