Happy Birthday to Aivree!

Oh my little Aivree Lou...where has the time gone??  I just can't believe that my baby is 3.  Such a big girl.  Here is her birthday sign she had on her door when she woke up.  She was the first to wake up (as usual) and she had to go potty.  I don't even think she realized it was her birthday until I sang her the song from Barbie in the12 Dancing Princesses (probably her favorite movie right now): "Today it is your birthday and we sing to let you know, that you will be queen for the day, whatever you say goes!"  She got the biggest grin on her face when I sang that.
Her presents and pinata.  We had kind of a pinata theme going on this year with birthdays.  We may have to have one when the baby arrives..and for Rob's birthday...and mine. :)  When we asked Aivree what she wanted on her cake she said she wanted Ariel, so we stuck with the Ariel theme for the pinata too.
The birthday girl with her presents and her big sister.  I was trying to get a picture of Aivree here obviously, but Anisten really wanted to be involved.  Anyone else have that problem on birthdays? The sibling jealousy?  It kind of takes the fun out of birthdays for me I gotta say.
And here is Aivree showing us how old she is!  She's concentrating pretty hard I know, but she has been working on making her hand do that for awhile now and I am very impressed (she can also do two fingers too, which is quite a feat.)  The dress she is wearing was the first present she got to open (exciting I know).  Isn't it cute?  Her birthday was on a Sunday so I figured she should have a new dress to wear to church on her birthday.  She was a good girl in Nursery too (did I mention that's my calling right now?) and we made sure to sing Happy Birthday to her.
After church and relaxing for a bit we headed over to Gma and Gpa Stevenson's house for dinner and celebrations.  Here is Aivree's beautiful Ariel cake that her talented Grandma made for her.  The big boat is another one of her presents.  It goes in the bathtub and blows bubbles and sprays water fountains.  It's pretty fun.
After dinner and after Gma and Gpa Rollins arrived it was present time.  Here's Aivree opening her presents.  Between her big sister and her cousins, she had lots of help. :)

And just like Anisten, she got a bike!  She's having kind of a hard time riding it though.  She wants to keep pushing back on the pedals instead of forward so she just stops.  Oh well, she'll get it in time.
And then on to the pinata!  Rob thought Aivree looked so cute in her helmet so he left it on her :)  A little extra protection never hurt right?  Except maybe the people without the bat are the ones who need the protection.

Tyler's turn!
Wesley having a go.  This was one of the weaker pinata's we've had and with each kid a few pieces of candy would drop out of the bottom.
Anisten's turn now! (why do my girls bat left handed?)  She gave it some seriously hard hits and more candy was dropping out, so I just told Rob to bust it so all the candy would fall out.
And here is the candy scramble.  I also put some toys and stickers in there too.  Fun stuff
Now for the cake and singing
Eating her yummy cake and ice cream (she wanted Strawberry).  Happy Birthday Aivree!!
Some fun things about Aivree:
- Aivree is an awesome talker and speaks really well, but she does have a hard time with the "kah" and the "gah" sound.  They sound more like t's or d's.  So "cookie" sounds like "too-tie" and "cracker" sounds a lot like "tractor."  I actually don't even notice it that much any more, but it has made for some pretty funny conversations.
- Aivree has such beautiful long curly hair.  I don't want to cut it because I don't want her to lose her beautiful baby curls, but it is getting really long and we're going to have to cut it soon.  She says its her Rapunzel hair.  She sure does love to throw a fit whenever I have to fix her "Rapunzel hair."
- She has such an imagination.  She actually reminds me of a lot of me when I was younger.  She will play all by herself and you'd think she was in a whole other world.  She's very animated and dramatic.  It's so fun to watch.
-Aivree is a little chatterbox.  If you are willing, she will talk your ear off.  She is such a storyteller too.  She tells me all sorts of things that I know never happened, but she just loves to tell stories.  A lot of the time they start out like "At my school..." or "When I was four..."  Yeah, you just turned three darlin and you don't go to school yet.
- Aivree is still a pretty good eater.  I don't have to worry about fighting with her much if I put a casserole or something in front of her.  She's willing to try most any food.  One of her favorite things to eat is steak.  Especially when daddy cooks it on the grill.  The problem with her is getting her to sit down long enough to eat a whole meal.  She usually sits for about 10 minutes max. and then she's down from the table whether her food is gone or not.  She went through a time where if you were eating something at the table, she always wanted to come and see what you were eating and have a few bites too.  That's probably why she'll eat most anything, because she's eaten off our plates for so long.
- This girl loves to dress up and dance.  She has a box full of dresses and tutu's and she puts at least one on everyday with her ballet slippers and dances around the house.  She can't wait for the day when she goes to her own dance class.
- Aivree loves babies and baby dolls.  She carries them around and is such a good little mommy to them.  She can't wait for her sister Alivia to arrive.  She loves to sit and talk to my tummy and she always comes up and just randomly gives my tummy a kiss.  She loves to feel her moving.
- Her best friend is definitely her sister and they play together all day long.  Even though Anisten can be pretty bossy sometimes, they usually get along pretty well and have a great time playing.
- She's usually been a pretty tough girl, but lately she's been more emotional and been able to turn on the "waterworks" much easier.  I'm not sure what's made her so sensitive at times, but she most definitely gets her feelings hurt more now.
- Aivree loves to be a big helper with anything I'm doing, but especially in the kitchen. She loves to help pour any ingredients in if I'm cooking and she loves to help with the dishes.
- I believe Aivree has pretty vivid dreams and she went through a period where she had nightmares regularly and would wake up screaming in the middle of the night.  She is so irrational at night, I swear she is a different person.  She gets an idea in her head and there is no convincing her otherwise.  My patience in the middle of the night is practically nonexistent so it's never good when she gets that way.  The hardest part is keeping her quiet so she doesn't wake up the whole house.  I'm hoping that it's just a phase and she'll grow out of it.  It seems like she's already starting too, so that's good.
-  Aivree is our little comedian and just loves to make us laugh.  She is such a joy to have in our family and we are so blessed she is one of us.
We love you Aivree!
