Easter has got to be one of my favorite holidays. Not only because its another holiday that celebrates Christ, but because it happens during my favorite season...Spring. Its so nice when the weather starts getting warmer and everything starts getting green again and coming back to life. Such a fun time of year. Not to mention that Easter candy is the best candy. So much yummy stuff (if only I wasn't on a diet!! - More on that later). This year the Rollins family did their annual Easter egg hunt on April 7, the day before Easter. Its so nice to get the whole family together again...it seems that after Christmas we go so long before we see everyone again. Another reason Easter is so great.
Here are the girls dying some Easter eggs for the hunt
Rob had just got home that day from being in Rock Springs, Wyoming for five days for work. It had been a long week without him so we were all so happy to have him back.
The backyard all prepped with hundreds of eggs for the grandkids
and they're off....!
Anisten getting excited about something...eggs I'm sure. She was so funny, the eggs have each child's initials on them so that everyone gets a fair amount of eggs. Anisten for some reason felt it was her job to take everyone their eggs the she found. So instead of just finding her own eggs, she was busy finding the owner's of everyone else's eggs. It took her forever to finally find all of hers.
Aivree finding some eggs
Happy girl with her basket and bag of eggs. It had been such a nice day and as soon as we got ready for the hunt the weather turned a bit cold. Good thing we had jackets.
Anisten with hers. Lots of fun stuff. My in laws also did an Easter egg hunt for the adult couples and they hid one gold, two silver and three bronze eggs with money inside them. Obviously the gold had the most money, but I was able to find us a silver egg with $40 inside. Woohoo!
Here's my beautiful girls on Easter morning. I loved both of these pictures so much I had to post them both. Rob had to work that morning so we didn't do the girls Easter hunt until after church, but we made sure they got their new Easter dresses to wear. Unfortunately my girls weren't feeling their best (lovely colds and coughs that seemed to be going around) and so we only took them to sacrament and then Rob brought them home. They sure looked pretty though.
After I got home from church we did our own Easter hunt in our backyard, since the weather was so nice.
Here are the girls finding their treasures
They got cute new sunglasses, more new dresses (I just couldn't resist), bubbles, Color Wonder paper, socks, treats and The Muppets movie. Spoiled girls. I also hide one egg that is empty and we talk about how Jesus' tomb was empty after he was resurrected and that's why we celebrate Easter. Anisten got all that stuff, but she just couldn't understand why I didn't just put candy in the egg. :)
Playing with their new bubbles
Happy Easter!!
