8 Wonderful Years

On April 14th Rob and I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary!  (We actually did more of the celebrating on the 11th-12th since those were the days Rob had off).  I figured we should get away for at least one night since after the baby comes it will be awhile before we'll be able to get away at all.  We stayed overnight in Salt Lake at the Armstrong Mansion (the September Room) and it wasn't really long enough.  My mom was good enough to watch the girls and I was a bit nervous because the last time they slept over at grandma's house there wasn't a whole lot of sleeping that went on and it was pretty obvious the next day.  This time they did good though (except for an Aivree outburst around bedtime).  They ended up sharing a bed and slept really well through the night, so I was proud of them.
While Rob and I were in Salt Lake we went and had dinner at Rodizio's.  Yum...it was so good.  We love our meat!  I think that is probably the most we've ever spent on dinner during our whole married life together (or even before that!), but we figured once every eight years is okay. :)  After that we went and checked out City Creek.  It was raining while we were there which was kind of cool because they put the roof thing on.  It was fun to look at all the stores but we didn't buy anything.  It was so nice to just hang out together without our cute little distractions.  I'm so glad we got to have that time especially with Rob's crazy work schedule lately.  It's definitely made us appreciate the time we do get together.
Here's Rob at Rodizio's.  (I forgot my camera so I took these pictures on my phone)  Such a handsome guy :)
And here I am at City Creek in front of the "dancing fountains."  Much cooler when you can hear the music and actually see them "dancing."  And of course there's my big belly, which we like to call "Alivia"
Happy Anniversary babe!!!  I love you so much and still feel like the luckiest girl in the world because you chose me.

I thought now would be a pretty good time to give a little pregnancy update.  After the lovely kidney stone incident I went and took my glucose tolerance test about a week later.  About a week after that I got a phone call saying that my results came back too high and I'd have to go and take the 3 hour glucose test.  This was sounding all too familiar and I wasn't too happy about it.  I mean, I know I had gestational diabetes with Aivree and lived through it (and actually ended up losing weight), but that didn't mean I wanted to do it again.  So I went and did the 3 hour test on Rob's next day off and I about puked everywhere, but I got through it.  And just to be cautious, the nurse told me to probably follow the diet (counting carbs) until I found out the results.  Well, I figured since I was already following the diet, I might as well call to get my results so I could find out whether it was necessary to keep following the diet or not.  My results came back "borderline."  So I'm borderline for gestational diabetes, which means that I still need to follow the same diet as I did when I had diabetes for the most part, but I don't need to worry about testing my blood sugars several times a day like I did before.  To be honest, the "borderline" thing has really confused me and I was really just hoping for a straight up yes or no.  It's okay though...I've finally accepted it (although I did have a pretty bad attitude about it the first week or so) and all is well.  A healthy baby is what's important.  It's so funny, I think I jinxed myself right around 24 weeks when I was thinking about how great  and not so hard this pregnancy had been up to that point.  It seemed that I spoke too soon. ;)  BUT, I am now 32 weeks along and that means only eight weeks to go at the most.  It feels so close..and yet.  I still have lots to do to prepare for this little one.  I need to find all our baby stuff and bring it out and dust it off.  It feels like it's been so long.  On a positive note...little Alivia (that's what we're naming her, not sure if I mentioned that before or not) is already proving to be a very active little dancer inside my belly so she'll fit right in with her sisters.  The past couple of weeks she started getting hiccups.  It's usually whenever I eat something that she gets them, but it's also been random times too.  Poor thing, sometimes she gets them three times a day!  Makes me excited to hold her.  So, if you don't count my whining and complaining, all is well with the pregnancy and with the baby. :)
