More Christmas lights and train ride

On December 12th we went on a little adventure with the Stevenson family down to Salt Lake to see the lights on Temple Square.  We rode the Frontrunner down (first time for most of us), then Trax to Temple Square, then ate at the Lion House, walked around temple square for awhile and rode the trains back home.  It was soo fun!  We seriously had a blast and it was fun watching the girls enjoy it too.

Here's the grandkids waiting for the train to arrive
Here it comes!!
Ani with Grandma and Grandpa on the Frontrunner train.  Our very own Polar Express :)
Aivree loved looking out the window
Me and my babe
I loved Aivree's face in this one. This was after we'd gone upstairs on the Frontrunner, so you could see everything better.
What a fun way to travel...you don't even have to leave your cousins for the ride.
Rob and Aivree heading for the Trax train.  This is a good view of the Frontrunner too.
The girls with their yummy food at the Lion House.  We really did like eating there and will probably be going back.
Our sweet little fam at Temple Square.  Aivree wasn't feeling well after dinner, so she was kind of ornery for awhile (as you can see in the picture)
The night before this little adventure my mom did a family night on the Temple and all of the symbolism on specifically the Salt Lake Temple.  She told a story about how special it is to be able to even touch the temple.  Here's Aivree touching the temple and looking at the doorknobs (lots of symbolism there!)
Here's Ani touching the Temple....I'll go inside someday
Ani looking at the nativity in the reflection pond
Since Aivree was being such a pill, she would only allow my Dad to hold her, touch her, be near her, etc.  So my wonderful Dad did a lot of "babysitting" but he was so good about it.
The grandkids checking out the temple
They loved the little alcoves.  This was one of Aivree's happier moments
I thought this was too cute.  The cousins holding hands
On the way home Aivree got super hyper..it was pretty obvious she was tired.  We were afraid of her falling down the stairs on the Frontrunner, so Rob pulled out his phone and found something for her to watch to calm her down a bit.  Worked like a charm.
Anisten on the other hand had a great time laughing with her cousins (maybe she was a bit hyper too).  In fact, she would've fallen down the stairs if it hadn't been for Brody's watchfulness.
They laughed and told "jokes" the whole way home.  It was a really fun Christmas outing.  Definitely one we'll remember.  Thank you Mom and Dad!
