Daddy's long trip

June 27-July 1 Rob left us (for six days!) for a Green River trip with the young men in the ward. He was so excited for this trip because he loves that kind of stuff...camping, hiking, river rafting, it's all up his alley. I was a little nervous about it because that's actually the longest Rob has ever been gone (I know, we've been lucky) without any communication and I knew we'd miss him. He was going to be in a place without reception so we wouldn't have any contact the whole time, but I made sure to fill our days up with lots of fun things to do and to fill my night's up with some Me time and relax. We did do a lot of fun things. We went to the movies a couple times, went swimming, to the park, played with friends and cousins...it was good. The girls did miss him though and were very excited when he came home...and so was I.

Here's a picture we sent to him while he was gone to tell him we were thinking of him

The Wednesday after he left I hear a knock at my door and look what the delivery man brought me....beautiful flowers from my sweet Robbie. It made me cry. I thought it was very sweet of him to think of me while he was gone and let me know he missed me even though we couldn't talk. It was perfect. I love you babe!!

He surprised me by coming home late Friday night (I thought he'd be coming home Saturday afternoon) and I was so happy to have him back. The girls were excited too the next morning when they saw him.

They missed playing with Daddy

That night we had a block party in our neighborhood that I guess is an annual thing around here. It was fun. They had a big waterslide thing for the kids. Our girls liked playing on the little one.

There was lots of good food and the kids loved that they could play in the street. :) It was a fun homecoming for Rob. He had quite an "adventurous" trip where one day almost everyone fell into the cold river and they had to do some rescuing. Luckily they all made it home safely and made some good memories of the trip.
