Fun at the Parades

We made it to A LOT of parades this summer..for various reasons. We'll get to them all in time, but to start us off on our "parade of parades" is the Syracuse parade on June 25, 2011. This was the first parade of the year and the girls were pretty excited about it.

Waiting for the parade to start...with bags and chairs and smiles

And the parade begins...

Aivree didn't get into the parades so much. It was hot outside and she wasn't as quick as the other kids at picking up the candy and usually once she did pick it up, she just wanted to eat it. So she spent much of her time on Daddy's lap relaxing and eating lots of treats.

Here's Rob keeping her cool with the spray bottle fan Ani too

One of the attractions of the parade: Deni Hill, at home winner from The Biggest Loser (she lives in Utah)

We usually stand down near the end of the parade because that's where we live, but this time we decided to start up farther to the beginning of the parade and my what a difference!

We got SO MUCH candy!
At one point during the parade Ani just sat down and totally stopped picking up the candy. I asked her what was wrong (I of course was scrambling all over the place to pick up the candy) and she said "I need to rest, we have enough candy." She even mentioned going home before it was over...pretty exhausting work those parades.

Anisten with our loot. I can't believe how much we got. We still have a lot of this candy (two months later!)

Not too shabby for our first parade of the year
