Don't let Santa get me!

On December 4th we had the annual Rollins Christmas party. Rob was working on our house so he was only able to come and eat and then it was back to work. He's such a hard worker. Well, as is tradition, Santa always makes an appearance at the party and gives presents to all the children. Fun for most, not for my little ones. Well, Anisten especially. I thought maybe she'd do okay this year because at the mall she waved to Santa, whereas last year she wouldn't even go near the area of the mall that Santa was in without throwing a huge fit.
We were finishing up our lunch when we heard the jingle bells coming down the stairs. Anisten was okay at first, maybe a little worried, but then her cousin Emma (who is about the same age) started crying and panicking and trying to get to her mom...it was down hill for Anisten after that. Her Aunt Heidi tried to console her, but she just wouldn't calm down. She kept saying I don't want him to get me! I had to tell her that she didn't have to go see him and I would get her gift for her and that calmed her down a little.

When it was Aivree's turn I took her up to Santa and she took the gift from him, but wouldn't sit on his lap. Not too bad though. She was probably worried because her sister was freaking out. By the way, Emma calmed down quickly and sat on Santa's lap to get her present..no problem! Anisten pretty much cried until it was her turn. Sommer got her present for her and Santa waved to her from across the room. She waved back and said "THANK YOU!" happy as can be. Such a silly girl.

No longer worried I guess. And here are the girls with their gifts. Anisten got a Princess Tea Set (which she loves! "How did he know?") and Aivree got a soft kitty that she squeezed as soon as it came out of the box. Sorry about the picture. We got a new camera (finally!) and this was the first time using it, so I had some figuring out to do. The girls weren't being very patient with it.

When Santa was leaving he made sure to wave to Anisten again and she happily waved back. As he was waving he said "You'll like me next year!" I'm not sure I'd bet on that Santa, but I guess you never know.
