Day Trip to Ruth's Lake

On August 2, we thought it would be fun to go on a little day trip up in the mountains for the day.  We drove up early one morning and stopped at a gas station for some giant donuts before heading up into the Uintah's.  They were really good
Eating donuts and watching movies.  What a life
We arrived at the trailhead for Ruth's Lake.  So beautiful
And we started hiking. Rob carried food and supplies (Aivree is of course in the front)
and I carried Alivia.  The hike was about 40 minutes or so
We made it!! Such a beautiful Lake

We found a little camping spot to fish and eat our lunch.
I love this of Alivia and Aivree
Ani fishing

After a while they caught a fish and Alivia kissed it!

While Rob and Anisten were fishing, Aivree wanted to explore, so her, Alivia and I went on a little hike.  Aivree could seriously go for days.  She was practically running up the hills and over rocks.  I had to keep telling her to wait for me and Alivia.  That girl loves hiking and exploring.  She was in heaven.

Alivia actually held her own very well for a two year old.  She wanted to be just like Aivree and didn't need much help from me.

We found some rock climbers climbing up a huge cliff in front of us.  Such pretty views from up here
Back at camp, Rob set up his hammock
We tried to get Alivia to take a nap, but she wasn't having it.  Although she was very very tired

A little bit later, Aivree caught a fish
Alivia liked touching the fish.  It was always so exciting when a fish was caught (there weren't many caught that day for some reason)

Love this of Livi..she was singing and jumping on the rocks
Later in the afternoon we decided to head home.  We hiked back on a different trail.  There were so many wildflowers everywhere.  It was so pretty

Livi was sad she didn't have her blankie, but Rob gave her his scarf/handkerchief and that did the job for her and she fell asleep on the hike down.  Sweet girl.
Anisten almost got hit by a car crossing the highway to our car.  It was terrifying and I screamed at her because she didn't see the car coming.  I'm so glad she saw it fast enough and that everything turned out fine.  We had a great time up in the mountains for the day.  On the way home we stopped at Arby's in Evanston for dinner and then the rest of the way home.  It was a nice little day trip and we all loved it.
