Rivers Edge cabins

On June 19-21, we decided to go on a little mini-vacation up to a place called The River's Edge cabins in Heber.  We found a really good deal on them for less than $50 a night and were wanting to get away.  We also don't have a tent or trailer right now, so it was really the best way for us to go "camping," although it was much more like "glamping."  We let some of our other family know about it, but my parents were the only ones able to come at that time.  Which was still lots of fun.
We left right after nap time and the girls watched Aladdin in the car.  This was Alivia's first time seeing Aladdin and she didn't love it.  She was pretty scared a lot of the time.  We stopped at Taggarts to eat dinner and then drove the rest of the way up there.
Sitting around our campfire
Rob got a brand new hammock and hung it up.  It was a hit

Roasting marshmallows
We had a pretty fast running creek thing right by our cabin which made me super nervous...mostly because of Alivia.  But fortunately, she stayed pretty far away from it.  The older girls like throwing rocks in
The first night the girls all went to bed really well.  I wish I could say the same.  Rob and I stayed up talking around the fire with my Dad until about 11, but then I could not go to sleep for some reason.  Must've been too worried about the girls sleeping well in a new place or something.  I felt like an insomniac though and it was so frustrating!
Which made it nice to wake up in the morning to this delicious breakfast.  Mountain Man and pancakes
After breakfast, we decided to go on a walk by the Provo River and Rob wanted to do some fishing.
That sun makes getting a good picture difficult; especially for my light-eyed girls
We brought Alivia's new wagon up to ride in.  Riding in style
Love this picture
This picture makes me smile because it is so Aivree.  Just skippin along. She LOVES hiking!!  She is always the first in line.  She says it's because she loves "exploring."  :)  She was like this most of the time.  We had to tell her to wait for the rest of us

We found a horsey tree for the girls to ride on.  Brought back memories of my horsey tree ridin days

Aivree practicing her balancing skills.  She was super upset when we had to turn around and head back.  She could seriously hike all day long
Rob went and got his fishing stuff and we found a fun spot to hang out on the river.

My fisherman
He got one!
Beautiful picture
After Alivia (and me) had a nap, we went to play on the playground they had in the campground (very non-primitive).  The girls loved it, of course

.
And then Rob went to do some more fishing and we came to watch
Aivree scared us by almost falling into the river two different times.  Practically gave my Dad a heart attack.  That girl
This girl sure loves her Grandma and Grandpa
Rob showing the girls a fish
That night we hung out around the campfire again and just relaxed.  It was nice.  I slept much better the second night.
The next morning it was time to get ready to head out.  Just a quick little trip.
I loved these pictures of Livi with her Grandpa.  So cute.  She was just not satisfied if they were not in her view at all times
Here is where these two sleepy girls slept.  Nice bunk beds just like at home.  They loved it and slept really well
They had fun with the big mirror in the room too

And here's where Livi slept.  In the second bathroom in the pack n play.  She actually slept really well in there too.  Not quite as long as usual, but still good.  Such a silly girl

And here are our cabins that we stayed in.  Pretty nice

Here's Rob showing Ani some snake grass
And the girls helping pick up before it was time to go.
And then we were off.  It was a short trip, but it was a fun one and now we know what to expect if we come back again someday.  It was pretty nice accommodations at a pretty good price and it ended up being our main vacation for the summer, so I'm glad we did it.
