So this year for the 4th of July (Mom Stevenson's Birthday), we started the day off early with breakfast at the Stevenson's. Soo yummy!
After breakfast we headed over to watch the Layton Parade
My three cuties
It was already pretty hot and we were all looking for any shade we could find. My Dad bought all the kids otter pops and Alivia promptly spilled hers everywhere. Gotta love Summer!

Once the parade started we forgot about being so hot and enjoyed the fun. They even threw quite a bit of candy
The girls loved it
After that we headed over to the park to enjoy some of the festivities. Grandma and Grandpa gave all the kids some money to spend on rides or games or whatever. They were in heaven!
Aivree chose all the blow up toys to spend her money on
The other kids joined in too
After a while we were all so hot and getting hungry so we headed back to the car
I love this...those are Livi's little feet sticking out of the side of the wagon
We went to McDonalds and got smoothies for lunch. None of us were hungry for food really, just hot and thirsty and a smoothie sounded perfect!
Then Rob went to his parents house and got his Dad's Kid Wash and some plastic he had bought and we made our very own Slip N Slide! It was so fun!!
Rob and I couldn't let the kids have all the fun and we were ready to get cooled off too, so we joined in on the fun.
After swimming and nap time (for Livi) we went to Sizzler for dinner.
And then back to Grandma's to celebrate her birthday with some cake and presents. Happy Birthday Mom!!
And after that...we went to a park in Layton to watch the city's fireworks from a distance. We didn't really worry about going too close to any fireworks this year and deal with getting home late from all the traffic. This way it was just our family enjoying the fireworks together.
I love Livi's face...Wow!
Hanging out eating treats and watching fireworks
When they were over we went home, but walking to the car Wesley threw up all over the sidewalk. Unfortunately, some of it got in our car somehow (from a shoe or a blanket or something) and our car stunk like throw up for weeks! Ugh, it was awful. But kind of funny to remember.
Speaking of funny...Alivia got bit by a mosquito bite on her face a couple times apparently while we were watching fireworks. I guess it was her first time getting bit on her face. I saw that she had bites, but didn't think anything of it until I got her up in the morning and saw this stranger smiling back at me!
What the??? Poor thing! Her face blew up from the mosquito bites! She seriously looked like an Asian baby for a few days, but it didn't phase her in the least. In fact, she didn't seem to notice at all...except when people looked at her and got these shocked looks on their faces. :)
We were a little worried about it because it didn't seem to be going away fast enough, but a few days later and she was looking much better.
Such a cute girl...Even with a puffy face.
We had a great long Fourth of July day spent with family. It was great
