On Thursday, August 29, 2013 we had the annual Stevenson Reunion. It was in Farmington this time and we had a potluck dinner. Randy brought his horses and the girls loved getting a ride.
My sweet Grandpa Stevenson. His health isn't the best, but he was able to come and we sang (a very off key version of) Happy Birthday to him. Sure love him.
It was so fun to eat and visit with family we don't get to see very often anymore. I used to see my cousins so much and now I'm lucky to see them once a year. Kind of sad. We're just growing and getting so much bigger now, it just gets that way. Rob and I had a parenting fail that night though. They mentioned there would be swimming in the pool from 7-10pm, but I figured we wouldn't be there long enough to do much swimming because it was a school night. I considered bringing their swimming stuff anyway, but Rob said not to. Well, we were the only ones who didn't bring their children swimming suits. Pretty much everyone got in the pool and our girls were just heartbroken. So...we said, go ahead and swim then! And they did...clothes and all.
We were the heroes after that. They were pretty happy to be able to swim. They would've been much more happy to have their suits, but hey, we made do.
There was a splash pad there and Livi was having a blast with that. Such a happy girl (also no swimming suit)
So, fortunately, it turned into a successful night of fun and family. So thankful for all of my wonderful family.
