Morning family Hike

Recently Rob decided to take a new job position with Frito Lay.  A merchandiser position opened up in the Ogden area and he took it.  The hours are steady, the workload is less than half of what he was doing, there's no more traveling and he'd be working close to home on a set schedule every week.  The only downside is that the pay is also half.  We figure this gives him more time to devote to looking for a new job.  So instead of quitting, he's just taking this lesser position to give him more time to find a new job.  It's definitely not something we can live on for long, and he still has to work Sundays, so we are praying that it's only temporary until something else comes up.
So, since he has Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, we decided we'd take the family on a hike one morning up at Fernwood.  The girls were excited.
Here we are, ready to go
I love that Alivia kept her hat on most of the time.  It was so cute on her.  I loved seeing her cute face while we were hiking too.  She had lots of fun

We made a stop at a place where there was access to the water.  The girls liked playing in it for a minute and climbing on the rocks

We decided to keep going for a little bit and see if there was another place to play in the water.  I'm glad we kept going because we made it to a bridge that overlooked the stream and there was a path right to the water.  The girls were pretty happy about it :)  Such good little hikers
We decided to take some partial family pictures since it was such a beautiful place

Then we ate snacks, drank water and played in the stream
 Livi kept saying "Oooooohh!"
The girls walked on the rocks and both pretty much soaked their shoes before thinking to take them off.  They had kind of a soggy walk back, but hey, they had fun and learned a lesson in the process.

I can't think of a much better way to start the day than with a beautiful hike with my beautiful family.  It just makes me happy.  We want to make sure our children have a love for the outdoors and for exercise and this is a great way to teach them both. :)
