Aivree's birthday is on March 18 and this year that fell on a Monday. No big deal normally, except that daddy would be working out of town that day...sooo, we did most of her celebrating on Tuesday when daddy came home.
I did want to acknowledge her actual birthday with a litte something though, so I put up her streamers and gave her a gift to open..new shoes and a Strawberry Shortcake doll (she's holding them in the picture).
Her birthday was actually extended this way, so I think she liked it. On Sunday they sang to her in Primary and then she went to the Bishop and picked out this fun treat..a Laffy Taffy. One of her favorites (she requested they be in her pinata)
This is what was in front of her door when she woke up on Tuesday. A new Dora outfit (I couldn't find Strawberry Shortcake).
Whenever I asked Aivree what she wanted for her birthday, all she ever told me was balloons. So, I got her balloons..four of them for my four year old! She was so happy :)
The girls loved playing with the balloons all day. I thought this was very creative how they got the balloons when they couldn't reach them...tongs!
Rob got home at a pretty decent time and after watching some Strawberry Shortcake, we went to Chick Fil A for dinner. Aivree's favorite.
Drinking another favorite..chocolate milk!
Ani and Aivree playing. I think this is one of the reasons why Aivree loves Chick Fil A so much..the indoor playground
After dinner we came back home and the party started. We invited some of her friends from the neighborhood and her cousins were able to make it too. First off, of course, we headed downstairs to break the pinata.
Cody gave the final blow and the candy went everywhere. Fun stuff.
Here is the massacred pinata. It was a flower
And my dad once again, managed to make a hat out of the broken pinata and make all the kids laugh
Next up, we went back upstairs for the presents. Aivree got all kinds of fun stuff, but it's pretty impossible to see anything in these pictures. She was very closely surrounded the whole time she was opening. They did move away once for about 10 seconds and then...
...she was surrounded again. Everyone was just as excited as she was to see what her new toys were. ;)
After presents it was on to the cake. My mom outdid herself this time. This is the cutest Strawberyy Shortcake cake ever. We just loved the creative rainbow and grass and it's just so cute.
Definitely a favorite
All the kids gathered around once again for the lighting and blowing out of the candles. I'm not sure if she was nervous about her hair catching on fire, but she had a hard time blowing those candles out. She kept blowing over the top of them. :) Funny girl. She eventually succeeded though.
Aivree's percentages:
Weight: 33 lbs - 34%
Height: 41 inches - 78%
Another tall and skinny girl :)
Some fun facts about Aivree:
- There is probably not a day that goes by without her saying something that makes me laugh. She is just a funny girl!
- Aivree has a very active imagination, which actually reminds me a lot of me when I was a kid. There are times when I catch her just talking away to herself (or some imaginary person) like she is in her own wonderful world having a great time. I love that she's so imaginative. It always makes me smile. She always gets very into movies or stories and you can see it in her face how scared or excited she is about it, and I think that is because of her imagination. It's real to her.
- Aivree is an amazing big sister. She seriously loves Alivia so much and is so patient with her. Alivia can't get enough of Aivree either.
-Aivree is also an amazing little sister. Anisten is the oldest and so naturally pretty bossy, but Aivree is once again, very patient with her and doesn't let her bossiness bother her too much. She loves to have someone to play with her so she is usually willing to compromise so the fun doesn't end.
- Although she learns differently than Anisten, Aivree is still a pretty smart little girl. She knows all the sounds to the letters and I'm starting to teach her some sight words. She may be reading before Kindergarten. She just loves to "read" books. She'll go get a big stack of books and sit there and look at each one so carefully. She's always asking someone to read to her. She can't wait to be big like Ani and go to school someday. Which makes me really sad.
-Aivree is one persistent little girl and she doesn't forget either! She will ask and ask and ask for something until she gets it. And if I tell her to do something before, she'll do it and come right back and ask some more. Very deteremined.
-She loves to make forts all the time still and climb on anything she can. The world is her playground.
-Aivree loves to sing and dance. Whenever Alivia is sad or crying, Aivree immediately starts singing "I Am A Child of God" or "Twinkle Twinkle" to her. She always seems to have a song in her head and is singing something as she plays or colors or walks around the house. I hear she sings loudly in Primary too. She loves to dance like a ballerina too and is looking forward to the day when she gets to go to dance, instead of just watching Ani have all the fun. :)
-Aivree is my little water girl. She is just fixated on water all the time. She'll go in the bathroom and fill up the sink and "wash" all of her toys. Or she'll go outside and play in her water table and water every plant or weed she can find. She loves to help me wash the dishes so she can play in the water and bubbles. She will sometimes just get a big tupperware and fill it up so her dolls can "swim." Whenever the sun is out, it's almost a guarantee that she'll ask to go swimming. When she gets in the tub, she will play for hours (or longer if I'd let her). She is my little fish for sure. Maybe that's why Ariel is her favorite Princess.
-Aivree is a good little eater and appears to be having a growth spurt because I can't seem to keep her full for long. For the most part, she's not too picky, but she doesn't really like hamburgers or hot dogs. A meal that you would think would be a kid favorite (Ani loves them!). But if you give her a steak or potatoes or pork chops, she scarfs them off her plate super fast.
-Aivree is a beautiful girl. She somehow already knows how to use those big beautiful blue eyes to melt our hearts and give in to whatever it is she's begging for. :)
-This past year has probably been the hardest year in my little Aivree's life. She's had quite a few adjustments to make and I am amazed at how well she's done. I think she's realized her place in this family and that there is a place for her (I think she was afraid there wasn't) and it just wouldn't be the same without her. She brings so much light and happiness into our home and I'm so very grateful for her.
We love you so much Aivree!!
