Anisten's Dance Recital

Oh my Ani girl and dance.  This girls just loves to dance.  She has been so excited because her dance recital was on May 19th and they have been practicing her dance for months now.  She woke up sick on the morning of her Christmas dance recital, so this would be her first.  She just couldn't wait.  Here she is in her costume (minus the afro wig) on the day of her class pictures.  Such a cute little Disco Diva.
On the day of her recital (fortunately she was NOT sick this time) I dropped her off at Clearfield High School, where her recital was held, for a dress rehearsal before the recital began at 6:30 pm.  It was crazy for me to leave her there, she's so grown up.  She said the rehearsal went well and she was having fun coloring and playing with the girls backstage.  I went back a few numbers before she went on to help her put her afro wig on.  I was so nervous it was going to fall off during the performance so I pinned it like crazy.  She wasn't too happy about that (she said I was hurting her), but hey...it didn't fall out did it?  It was funny how I started getting nervous for her the closer it got to her number.  She has an amazing memory and knows this dance so well, so I knew she'd be fine, but I guess those are normal feelings for a mother to get before their child performs anything.  She came out and I yelled her name and she looked up and waved. :)  Luckily the lights had just barely turned on, so I don't think many people saw.  So funny.  She did awesome though and I was so very proud of her.
Here she is getting her medal at the end of the recital
Ani and her friend Berkley from her class
Holding up her medal (she was so proud and showed it to everyone) and getting big hugs from her admiring little sister
I was talking to her a few days before her recital and explaining that after her recital there would be a two week break of no dance and since I hadn't decided if she was taking summer classes yet or not, she might have a two month break.  Well, that was about the worst thing I could've said to her and she started crying!  I just can't believe how much she loves it.  I keep waiting for her to say something like she doesn't want to go, but instead she looks forward to the day everyday of the week.  So, needless to say I signed her up for ballet this summer and she couldn't be more thrilled.  I have a feeling we have plenty more recitals in our future.  Good job beautiful girl!  You make your mommy proud :)

It's good to catch up on your cute little family, I was wondering if you would have a new little one by now. I couldn't quite remember when it was you are due? Soon I take it?

Like mother like daughter, I bet your little Ani is a natural, she looks darling in her costume.

That is crazy about your eyes and pregnancy I have never heard of that happening. How frustrating, but I bet you look cute in your glasses. My husband used to wear contacts all the time but the last three years he has worn nothing but his glasses and now I can't imagine him any other way!
