Rob's 31st at Black Island

Rob turned the big 31 this year.  He's had a whole year to get used to being 30 and I'm not sure he's come to grips with it yet, but it's getting better. :)  His birthday was on Monday and on Sunday we ate at the Stevenson's for dinner and my mom made him this wonderfully delicious Peach Cream pie.  Oh man it was good and I'm not even a big fan of pie.  Although Rob is..he LOVES pie!

 Happy Birthday to you...
The next day was his birthday and I gotta say, the gifts I got him were a big fail.  First of all, I had his presents out on the counter in the morning so he'd see them and I heard him opening them at 6am while the rest of us were asleep.  Huh?  For some reason he thought if he didn't open them I'd feel bad, whereas I was thinking he'd just take the candy I left for him and open his presents that night with all of us there to watch.  I swear we've done this before.  Anyway, the hat I bought him (online) didn't fit and the Bluetooth headset was not the one he wanted.  I got him some BYU shorts as a last thought and they were the only thing that worked out.  Ugh..birthdays.  Some years I do better than others and this year was a definite fail.
But on a good note, my parents bought our whole family some tickets to go to Black Island Farms that night, so even if his gifts were a bust, at least there was a fun night to look forward too.  And it was a fun night.  We seriously had a blast and the girls loved it.  I'm so glad we got to go.
First off was the wagon/hayride thing to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins.

Ani and Aivree with their finds
And Alivia with hers. She loved her pumpkin and kept patting it

The pumpkin patch and the gang on the wagon ride

Alivia had so much fun on the ride.  Just look at that grin.  So stinkin cute
Next we went and had a "tailgate" dinner in the parking lot.  My parents bought pizza and breadsticks and my mom made these yummy gingerbread cookies.  They're always so good to make sure we're well fed.
Next we went in to the courtyard and got some fun pictures...

Looked at some animals (look at the size of that pig behind Aivree!)...
Had soo much fun on all the slides

Especially this one.  We even took Alivia.  She didn't make a sound the whole way down and after it was over she let out a nervous little giggle.  haha

You had to be brave to go on that big slide
The girls went on a little tractor/train ride.  I just love this picture because they're both giving me the exact same face.  Great posing ladies!
And here was the fun Corn Box.  Livi liked this

Not sure why she wanted to do her little upside-down-bum-in-the-air pose but we were all cracking up about it

 I have the best family!
 Crawling through a tunnel
Then we all walked through the big corn maze

We split up at one point and then found each other again and found our way out.  The girls loved running around in the maze
It was a beautiful night and a beautiful sunset
When we came out of the maze there was a magic show going on and the kids got wrapped up in that right away
The kids were even asked to help volunteer and they all were excited to except Ani.  Silly girl.

It was such a fun night and it was a great way to celebrate Rob's birthday.  Even though my gifts were a fail, he forgave me (and acted like he loved them) and the night was far from being a failure.
