The Latest

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. Here is the latest of what's been going on around here:
Well Anisten is definitely starting the year out right. She loves to work out with Rob and I and she likes to do her own workout "classes" where she is the instructor. That is what she is doing here. She kept saying things like "keep going" and "you're doing good." So cute. She'll be a great personal trainer someday.

Working hard

Rob got a little break from framing our house and some well deserved REST (don't ya love how the girls still play with him even when he's asleep? Anisten was pretending to be a mailman and kept bringing him "special deliveries")

Unfortunately he got SICK during his "rest time" (basically it's the time between framing and finish work/tile, so he doesn't have to work extra hours at night for a few weeks). Both he and the girls got a really bad cold and it is the cold that will never end! It has been 3 1/2 weeks and you would think they just got sick yesterday because their symptoms are still so prevalent. It has been awful. I got sick about two weeks after they all got it (weird huh? It was so strange to not be sick, I usually always catch what the famiy has) so I've only been sick about a week now. It's been so exhausting on them and us to have them sick for this long. I feel so bad.

One of the hardest things about it is that we are going stir crazy. We can't go out and do as many things as we could if we were all feeling better. So everyone's ornery and sick which is not a good combination (I've had to deal with so many behavioral issues this week, especially with Anisten..not so sure I like the 4 year old stage). One of the things we've missed out on is church..we went to our new ward on January 23 and then everyone got sick that week, so the girls haven't been back to their primary/nursery classes since then. We took them to sacrament last week, but they were coughing so much we didn't feel good letting them go to class. I just don't like them getting out of the church routine. Rob and I have been trying to switch off and go as much as we can. I just don't know how to get rid of this. I may have to give in and take them into the doctor even though our co-pay is so expensive. It would be awful if he told us it was just a virus and there was nothing he could do, but it would be even more awful to have something wrong that we didn't get help for.
So in the midst of not feeling well we've also been coping with all kinds of Utah winter weather

First there was snow...

Making snow angels

Then nice kite flying weather...

The girls were so excited to just be outside after being stuck inside and sick for so long. Aivree couldn't stop running and jumping. She was so happy

They had lots of fun in the sun for once
And a few days later....more snow. Even though they were sick they were begging to go outside and play in the snow again. Just to get out of the house.
Aivree struggled a little bit. She kept getting "stuck" in the snow and couldn't get up, then she would roll over and her face would go in the snow. She wanted me to hold her a lot. Here she is holding a tissue (of course, she asks for a tissue 45 times a day lately. Her poor little nose).
Ani celebrating the snowman we made. She's been wanting to make a snowman ever since the first snowfall, but I don't really have any snow clothes and Rob isn't ever home to make one for her, so I finally decided now was the time. I just put on a coat and gloves and made it from the sidewalk. She loved it.

Even though it probably wasn't the best idea to go outside when we're all sick, it was worth it. They loved being out in the sun and they made a new friend :)
The other big thing that has happened lately is we got a new vehicle! We knew that we would need something bigger eventually if we were ever going to have any more kids (no this is not an announcement) because my car was pretty small. So we thought that we could get something and put it on our house loan so we wouldn't have to worry about a separate payment. Well, my brother Brandon was also in the market for a different vehicle so they offered their Trailblazer to us at an awesome price. We took it.

The girls watching the DVD player...so much easier than using our portable DVD player (which wasn't working very well lately anyway). I don't usually let them watch something unless we're going to be in the car for a long time, but we wanted to try it out. It works wonderfully!
The other part of this story is that we had to sell our car. My lovely car, Minimax. My car of 12 YEARS! The only car I've ever known. The car I dated my husband in. The car I brought my babies home in. The car that had become so much a part of my life. Okay, okay, I know it's just a car, but I can definitely say that I was a little sad when I saw someone else driving it away. I had a lot of memories with that car.

We contemplated not selling it because the gas mileage is so good and we really don't need a bigger vehicle right now, but the timing just worked out that way and we don't want to have to pay taxes, insurance and registration on three vehicles. There were a few people who had shown interest in buying it and we offered it to them first, but they backed out, so we put it on KSL Classifieds and it sold in five hours! Lovely thing that KSL.

Farewell my friend, you and your gas mileage will be missed.
And last but not least..Our House

Things are moving along nicely. The outside is pretty much completed and I love it. I think it looks great. Rob is working on finish work right now and should be able to start on tile next week. We're thinking we might be able to move in by the end of March.

We're getting so close!

I am so sorry about the sickness, I think we must have the same thing. I have had my stupid cold now for like three weeks and it never feels any better.....spring needs to come for good!
