Good News

Well I took Anisten to the doctor after a horrible month of a never ending cold. She coughed several times until she puked and it seemed like it was not getting better, so I finally decided it was time. It turns out her never ending cold had turned into a sinus infection. Luckily with antibiotics there is an end in sight and she is doing MUCH better now. Yay!

Here's Anisten the day we took her to the doctor. We'd had about a week of wakeful nights because of coughing or stuffy nose or whatever so she was obviously a tired girl. She rarely falls asleep in the middle of the day anymore.

From November through February on the last Wednesday on the month the Hogle Zoo has free zoo day. The previous months had all been very snowy on the free zoo days, but in February it started out really sunny so my mom and I figured we'd take advantage. I'm so glad we did. It was so much fun to get out of the house and go see the animals. It was a little chilly but we made sure to bundle up and it wasn't bad at all. Most of the animals were awake and moving around and so fun to watch.

Here we are in front of the elephants. You can see baby Zuri and her mom. They were playing around and active; we loved watching them!

Here are some funny monkeys. They had a little baby too (its on the left)
The leopard was a little scary. There was a sign on the window that said in order to keep the leopard comfortable to please keep quiet and not to touch/hit the glass or jump at the leopard. Well, it was kind of a busy day and there were so many people crowded around this window you could tell he wasn't comfortable. He kept pacing back and forth in front of the window and a little girl touched the glass and he totally growled at her. It was so scary! I felt bad for the poor guy though. Most action I've seen at the zoo! Here are the girls looking at the "kitty." It was some kind of sand cat or something, I can't really remember. It was just cute all curled up like that and the girls loved it.
Cute picture of Ani in front of the giraffe
Aivree in front of the rhinoceros. We got to see them really close and they were actually moving around!
We had such a fun day at the zoo. It sure beats going when the weather is almost 100 and we're all dying of heat (including the animals). Plus it was free! It was definitely what we needed. The only thing that would've made it better is if Rob could've been there.
