Christmas Day!

Well, fortunately Christmas morning started late for us this year. And I'm afraid, it may be the last year we get to enjoy it that way. Aivree woke up around 8:00 am and Anisten didn't wake up until 9:00! Probably from that late night the night before.
We started the morning off with a prayer and reading the story in Luke 2. We have magnetic cutouts of the Nativity that we use for family night and we used it while we were reading Christmas morning. The girls got to find each character as we read about it and put it on the board. Then Anisten opened the first gift of Christmas which was the baby Jesus that goes in our Nativity. It was a nice way to start our Christmas day and keep us focused on what it was all about. Then it was on to the presents...
Aivree with her Princess cash register (to go with her shopping cart she got the night before!)
Anisten holding up a fun Princess book she got
One of Anisten's favorite gifts was this Tag reader and books. They keep her busy for hours and I love that she's "reading" books. Aivree got the Tag Jr. I just love all these educational toys
Aivree got to a point where she didn't care so much about her unopened presents. She was happy with what she had opened and was getting annoyed with me for bugging her to open up the rest. She totally got stuck reading this Spot book (I had no idea she'd like this so much!). You can see the unopened presents next to her.
Aivree with her pretty princess tiara
Anisten in her "apron" painting on their new easel. This girl loves to draw!
And here is the mess after all the fun. I am having such a hard time finding a place for all of the new stuff. Hopefully we'll be able to find a home for everything once we're in our new house.
At 1:30 it was time to go (upstairs) to Grandma and Grandpa Stevenson's house for more fun and celebrating. These are the cupcakes my mom made to celebrate Jesus' birthday. I love it.
The grandkids opening presents from Gma and Gpa. I decided to put Aivree down for a nap before the festivities began because she was acting super grumpy, so once again, she missed out..but I don't think she minded much - and neither did the rest of us. I'd much rather have a happy Aivree than a tired one.
Anisten with her cute new shoes
This is probably the present Anisten was the most excited about because she was asking for it for so long (and saw them EVERYWHERE we went!)
Her Unicorn Pillowpet
After Aivree woke up from her nap it was her turn to open presents.
Such pretty new shoes
And her new Water Baby!
Mom and Dad spoiled us again this year. We got so much: a new suit for Rob, a gift card for me, fun family games, lots of gift cards, cash, a new calendar, some "common cents," and frozen food storage!
The line up of presents
Here is a picture of our frozen food storage. SOO nice to have
This year we got mom and dad a new camera, (their old one wasn't really working) and cash for their mission fund. We also started up a blog for them so they could record some of their memories.
Here's mom looking at the blog
Opening their new camera. Such classic faces :)
I just had to include this; here is the first picture Anisten painted on her new easel. Can you tell what it is? THE NATIVITY !
I think she was listening! Merry Christmas!
