Well our Halloween didn't turn out quite like we hoped but we did get to have some fun in the weeks leading up to it. We went over to Black Island Farms one day and got to enjoy all the festivities there with Grandma Stevenson, Kaylee and Lexi and Rob even got to come!
Here's Anisten and Aivree and Lexi in the corn box
Here's Anisten in the little train. Lexi was going to go with her, but they couldn't fit so she ended up going alone. I thought she'd start crying when they drove away, but she did good and looked so cute in there.

Rob and Anisten on the teeter-totter
Rob and Anisten on one of the slides. Aivree and I are at the top getting ready to come down. We weren't as fast as they were.

Surprisingly, Anisten's favorite part of the place was the corn maze. I thought it would be her least favorite. I think she liked it because she could just run and run.

Luckily sweet little Aivree was able to fall asleep while we were there so we could enjoy staying there longer. Here's Rob holding her while we walked through the corn maze.
Here's Aivree and me after she woke up. She liked the corn maze too.
So cute in her warm little beanie
On October 23rd we went to the annual Rollin's Halloween party which was lucky because it ended up being the only time we wore our costumes. Here is Rob and Anisten carving a pumpkin

Here is Aivree, our cute Baby Tweety

Anisten was Ariel for Halloween this year and she loved it. She looked so beautiful in her costume. Thank you so much Grandma Stevenson for making this adorable costume for Ani. It's too bad she didn't get to wear it much.

All the Rollins grandkids decked out in their Halloween costumes (Anisten is front left and Aivree is being held up towards the back right)

Anisten was totally terrified when Grandpa became the Wizard and told scary stories around a table where they all ate jello "brains." She's not much into the scary Halloween stuff. To be honest, I can't say that I blame her.

The following Tuesday (October 27) Rob came home from work feeling really sick with some flu-like symptoms. We pretty much quarantined the bedroom he was in and I even slept on the couch, but somehow those pesky little viruses seem to find their way into your life no matter how much you try to avoid it. The next day Anisten got a high fever and started coughing. The day after that was my birthday and luckily I wasn't feeling sick. I was able to go Thriller that night with my cousins so that was nice after taking care of my sick family, but the next day I could feel the flu taking me over as well.
ODT's Thriller - It was so awesome!
Rob took Anisten to the doctor and he said he was pretty sure it was the swine flu. The Stevenson Halloween carnival was that night and we had to miss out on it. We also missed out on trick or treating the next day and then Aivree began showing signs of having the flu as well. It's bad enough to be sick on your own but when you have to watch your whole family suffer, it is absolutely miserable. We were so lucky to have meals brought to us for a few days from our parents. That was the one good thing about being sick. The food was delicious (when we felt like eating)! Ani putting peanut butter on the orange bread Grandma Rollins brought us.
These are the prizes Anisten would've won if she'd have been able to go to the Stevenson Halloween carnival. Grandma was nice enough to bring them to her so she could enjoy them anyway.
Here is the sign we put on our door on Halloween so we wouldn't have to worry about infecting any trick or treaters.

So it was definitely a downer holiday for us. We got a lot of family time just lounging around the house trying to feel better, but it was no fun at all and such a horrible sickness to have. Especially for my little ones! Such a bummer that we had to miss out on all the fun. Hopefully Christmas works out better for us. ;)

Very cute despite the fact it was not the funnest halloween. :)
Well that's not fun! I am sorry about that - truthfully I think Halloween is a bit overrated. Ani will use her costume for dress ups right? I hope you are feeling much better but heard the swine flu is a nasty little bug!
