Aivree is FIVE!

I can't believe that my Aivree girl is five years old...and that she'll be going to Kindergarten next year!  It's so crazy to me, and sad.  She's been my little sidekick these past couple years helping me out with Alivia while Anisten is at school.  Love this girl.  Aivree decided she wanted to have a Doc McStuffins birthday this year (although she went back and forth from Doc and Jake and the Neverland Pirates a lot.  She really likes Jake lately).
Here are a couple of the invitations we handed out to her friends
Aivree's birthday was on a Tuesday so the Sunday before we celebrated at Grandma Stevenson's house along with Kaylee and Brody's birthdays.  The five is for Aivree...obviously
The next night Aivree chose to go to Surf N Swim for her family activity for her birthday.  It's family night on Monday's at Surf N Swim so we all got in for $10.  The bubble was still on thankfully because it was turning into a chilly night.  Here are my cute girls ready for a swim!
Brandon, Aimee and their kids came to have fun with us too.  We loved having them there with us
We had a lovely surprise on the way out...it was snowing!!
Ani's eating some snow
Here is Aivree's birthday morning presents and balloons

Lucky Aivree, the movie Frozen came out on her birthday!!  I preordered it on Amazon and it arrived on our porch at 10am!!  It was awesome.  We have been listening to the Frozen soundtrack five times a day since Christmas and were so looking forward to the movie coming.  It's such a good one.  Here's Aivree and Alivia watching.
Daddy came home to take Aivree to lunch for her birthday.  It's nice that they get daddy daughter lunches on their birthdays.  They went to Iceberg.
Here's the cute Doc cake my mom made.  I love the bandages!

For dinner we ate at Chik-Fil-A and had some family join us which was fun
Such a pretty girl

We went back home after dinner and waited for friends and the rest of the family to arrive.  They're watching Frozen (again) while they're waiting
Once everyone arrived we headed downstairs to break the pinata.  I just got her a cupcake one because I couldn't find a Doc one and she was fine with that.  :)  Such an easy going girl.
Here she is taking a swing at it

Audrey having a turn
Now Kate's turn
and then Piper
....and Summer finally broke it enough to spill the candy out.
It's tradition now...Grandpa wore the pinata as a hat
And Cody joined in too
Here's all the cute kiddos
Then upstairs for some present opening
Grandma Rollins had to come late, but we were glad she could make it.
For some reason she would always throw her head back when she opened something. I guess that meant she liked it..?

Next was cake time!  Happy Birthday dear Aivree!!
A couple days after her birthday I had appointments for her and Alivia to get their well child check ups.  They both needed immunizations too...not super fun.  Aivree's cousin Fisher (Aunt Sommer) gave her the llitte stuff Lambie (from Doc) and it comforted her a lot at the doctor.  This is in the car post-shots with their suckers.  Alivia is way over it, but Aivree is still a bit upset.  Its okay though, no more shots until she's 12 years old!

Grandma came to help with the drama and we went and got some lunch after.   On the way home this little one tuckered out.  Going to the doctor will certainly take it out of ya.
A few days after that my poor Aivree woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.  She was kind of crying in the bathroom and I asked her what was wrong and she said she had a bad dream and I felt her and she was burning up!  She had a fever of 103.  I gave her some medicine and she slept fine, but when she woke up the fever was back.  It went on like this throughout the day, but she had no other symptoms so we just figured it was from the shots.  Poor girl.  Here she is all bundled up on the ottoman.
When I'm sick I usually like to take a bubble bath and Aivree has picked up on that.  She thought a bubble bath sounded nice.  :)  Anything to help her feel better and it did bring her fever down for awhile.
She fell asleep on the couch later.  I hate when my babies are sick.  Shots are no fun anyway and to get sick from it just makes it that much worse.
Five (or more) fun facts about Aivree:
1.  She loves to cook with me and always has.  She's always been interested in helping me cook or bake anything and loves to be in the kitchen when I am.  She'll even watch cooking shows with me and is very interested!  She'll be my chef someday.
She cracks eggs better than anyone.  Never gets a shell in.
2.  Aivree is so very thoughtful and makes sure to always think of others.  If someone gives her a treat or something, she will almost always ask for one for her sisters as well.  She always tries to make things fair and if it's not then she'll usually give up what she has so the other person (most often Anisten) is happy.  She's not always perfect about this, but I've seen her do it often and it always impresses me.  She plays so well with Alivia and is so patient with her.  She's always willing to help me with her and get her out of her crib after naps or in the morning.  She's a wonderful younger AND older sister.

I had to put this in...we went on a walk one day and every single potato bug she saw she had to pick up.  She loved watching them roll up and crawl all over her hand.  It was cute.  She's always good to remind me to enjoy life as it comes instead of rushing through it.  Every time she'd put it down and we'd walk away Alivia would yell "Bye Bug!"
 3.  As much as this girl loves to play and be active, she also loves her TV.  She asks for it almost every day and most days I give in.  We've been good to set limits, but we've often fought over her wanting to watch TV too much.  She obviously loved watching Doc, but we got rid of cable and now she just watches Netflix mostly.  She loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Strawberry Shortcake, Frozen (of course) and lately she really likes watching the movie The Croods.
She loves to play board games and use her imagination. I often hear her off talking to herself in some imaginary world and it totally reminds me of myself when I was young.  I love that she's so imaginative.  Here she is after playing Pretty Pretty Princess.
4.  Aivree is loud.  This girl has one volume and it is loud.  I'm not kidding.  She's always been my loudest child.  Especially when someone is sleeping in the house, I have to remind her at least 10 times to lower the volume, but it doesn't do much.  This could be a reason why she throws such incredible fits.  The fits seem to have gone down since she turned five, but she is still the Queen of Fits.  It's just the way she deals with frustration or anger which is understandable.  I think she's getting better though.  A positive about her loudness is that she sings loud and I love to hear her sing.  The Primary Program is always entertaining because she's a very animated singer as well.
5.  Aivree is smart and she's also a beautiful dancer, but she lacks confidence sometimes.  I think that it's sometimes hard to see her sister and how things come so easily for her so she automatically thinks she's not that way.  It's not true.  She is very smart and already reading some first level books which is awesome before Kindergarten.  She is great at sounding words out and is getting better at remembering some of the tricky rules of reading English.  I've been very impressed with her.  She's also improved a ton in dance this year and I love to watch her dance because I can tell she enjoys it so much.  She'll always randomly do a heel stretch off the grocery cart or in the car.
Aivree is a beautiful girl inside and out and I just love what she adds to our family.  She is so affectionate and always willing to give anyone a hug.  She is the best hug-giver.  In fact, one night Rob was talking at dinner, somewhat sarcastically, about how he had it rough at work and Aivree said "Oh Dad, let me give you a hug."  And she walked around the table and gave him a hug. It was just so sweet.  I love this girl with all my heart and I'm so glad she is mine.
