Anisten's 7th Birthday!

My Ani girl turned SEVEN on January 10, 2014.  I can't believe she's seven.  My seven year old teenager.

The celebrating started on January 5th when we ate dinner at Grandma Stevenson's and since it's Ani's birthday month she got to choose dinner and dessert.
Here are her super dang cute Hello Kitty cupcakes
And she chose pizza for dinner this year
This year on Sundays when we celebrate a birthday the birthday person gets to choose a family game to play.  Grandma helped Ani choose this, but we had a indoor "snowball" fight.  My mom bought about 80 little white stuffed "snowballs" so that we can have a snowball fight any time of year!  It was pretty fun and chaotic for a while there.  The kids loved it!  Rob did too as you can see...for some reason he thinks it's hilarious to pummel me relentlessly with the snowballs..which I find painful, but whatever. ;)

Here's Ani as we sing to her and eat her cute cupcakes
These are the invitations we sent out to about 4-5 of her friends to come celebrate with the family.  I told Ani she could choose between a friend party or going somewhere as a family and this is what we agreed on.  She could invite a few friends to the family celebration and then we'd go to Get Air as a family.  I still haven't decided how to do the whole birthday/friend thing.  This feels like a good compromise because the thought of 10 screaming little girls in my house for more than an hour and a half does not sound inviting to me.
Here are her presents and piñata on her big day

And there's the birthday girl with powdered donut on her face.  Happy Birthday goofball!  She took the powdered donuts to school for her birthday treat.
Here is the amazing cake Grandma Stevenson made.  So so cute! (The theme is Hello Kitty by the way)
After eating dinner at Pizza Pie Café (and being joined there by almost all of her extended family which was so fun!) we headed back home for the party to begin
Here is Ani's friend Kezlyn destroying the piñata
It happened so fast I didn't get a picture (the piñata was stuffed pretty full) so here is the after picture of all the kids and their candy bags
And on to the presents...Ani got so much fun stuff

Here are all the wonderful friends and family who came to support Anisten.  Such a loved girl by such wonderful family

 Happy Birthday to you!
 Isn't she gorgeous?
We ate on these cute Hello Kitty plates
 Sorting through all the prizes
Happy Birthday my sweet Ani girl!  Oh how we love you and are so blessed you're in our family
Here she is the day after her birthday playing with her Flutterbye Flying Fairy doll (say that five times fast).  She loves it
As agreed, we went to Get Air to do some family jumping (Alivia was napping at Grandma's)

We had a blast (and Rob found a way to pummel me with dodge balls again) :)

7 things about Anisten at age 7:
1.  Anisten still loves to read and reads all the time.  She is one of the best readers in her class and does well in all areas regarding English.  She also does well in other subjects, but just excels in her reading.  My little bookworm.  I love it and I hope she never loses it.  Some of her favorite books right now: Judy Moody, Rainbow Magic series, Amelia Bedelia, Junie B Jones, Katie Kazoo and many others.  This year I've been putting a note in her lunchbox everyday and they most often include a joke (courtesy of the internet) so we are full of joke telling around here all the time.  It's been fun.
2.  Anisten is still a petite thing as she's always been.  She weighs about 42 pounds and can fit in size 4T clothes still.  She's tall and skinny and beautiful. We're in trouble.
3.  As much as Anisten loves learning, she Hates homework!  It is such a fight everyday to get her to do her homework; it drives me nuts!  She knows how to do it usually, she just doesn't want to and puts it off for as long as she thinks I'll let her.  Granted, I think that she has way too much homework for a first grader, but if she gets into good habits now, it will hopefully stick with her.  Homework is a swear word in our house.
4.  She still loves to dance and is doing very well.  She's very flexible and has all three of her splits and her needle is beautiful and her leg extension is right up by her face.  She's turned into quite the flexible little girl and is improving a lot in dance.  I'm very proud of her and I'm glad she's still enjoying it.
5.  Anisten loves to go to church and is looking forward to being baptized next year.  She asks lots of questions about the gospel and I'm glad that she is curious and learning for herself.  I know she's been touched by the spirit already and that she's sensitive to those feelings.  She seems very in tune and I hope she continues on this path.
6.  Ani is still probably my pickiest eater.  She does eat a lot more than she used to, but is very cautious of anything new and will put up a fight before taking a taste of anything new (even if its dessert!).  She tries to be healthy for the most part, but has been blessed with her mother's sweet tooth.
7.  Anisten is a wonderful big sister and although she often fights with Aivree, they also play together better than ever.  She is very helpful with Alivia and Livi always gives her a big hug whenever she comes home from school.

Although she is often full of drama, Anisten really is an easy child.  I trust her with many things and am so proud of the girl she is.  She is such a blessing to our family and I'm so glad she is my oldest and that the other two have her to look up to.  I love you so much Anisten!
