You Are Loved Day 2013

I will admit, Valentine's Day is my least favorite holiday.  I've said it before so I won't go into details, but working in a flower shop ruined it for me.  This year though, I had a different perspective about it.  Instead of calling it Valentine's Day, I called it "You Are Loved" Day and thought about all those people in my life that I love.  It made it much more enjoyable and much less annoying.
Here is our Valentine's Art Wall.  It's a heart if you can't tell.
I love to bake and look for any excuse to be making something in the kitchen and Valentines' was a perfect excuse for me.  I made these delicious Red Velvet whoopie pie cookies.  We wrapped some up the day before Valentine's and took them to Gma and Gpa Rollins and Gma and Gpa Stevenson with a "heart attack" (paper hearts with little notes on them) and "anonymously" left them on their doorstep.  It was fun to do something for people who love us and who we love so much.

Here is what we gave the girls for Valentines.

Alivia liked her new stuff and so did the girls.  They were so happy about their books!
I left Rob this bag in the morning before he went to work.  It was filled with all kinds of different stuff.  We don't usually make a big deal out of gifts for each other on Valentines (we usually do a date night), but I had time and wanted to, so I put some stuff together for him.  The funny thing is..I used the same bag that I gave to him 12 years ago in High School for Valentines Day our Sr. year.  Can you believe we still have it?  I found it in the basement with a bunch of other sentimental stuff.  It's kind of ugly huh?
During the day I made lots and lots of sugar cookies..which were really yummy. :)  We took some to neighbors and some of the girl's friends in the ward.  When Rob came home he gave the girls some little boxes of chocolate and CTR bracelets from Deseret Book and he got me this sign....
I LOVE IT! and I love HIM!  I know that I "hate" Valentine's Day, but don't be mistaken that I absolutely love my Valentine Rob.  I'm very grateful to have such a wonderful Valentine.  We usually celebrate our First Kiss Anniversary on Feb 18th, but Rob's schedule changed unexpectedly (again!) so we had to move it to the 20th on his day off.  My mom kindly watched the girls while we went down to City Creek and ate at the Cheesecake Factory for the first time.  It was yummy, but not incredible.  I did enjoy my cheesecake slice though, don't get me wrong.  We walked around for awhile (mostly hanging out in Deseret Book) and then headed back home.  It was so nice to have a date.  We've been trying to fit those in more since Rob's been gone so much.  It's always nice to have that time together.
The Sunday after Valentine's we had dinner at my parents and my mom did this cute little story and then gave all the grandkids these great big kisses (they had rice krispie treats in them).  Pretty cute.  Gma and Gpa Rollins also sent us a card in the mail with a gift card to Coldstone.  Yum!

We had a good You Are Loved Day and here's one final note from Livvy:
