On March 18, 2011 Aivree turned two years old!
Good morning birthday girl! She was so happy that it was her birthday and she got to open her first present...a Dora fork and spoon.
For her birthday we went and watched Lexi do a skit at her school because she's running for SBO (she made it by the way!) Aivree was so comfortable at the school it kind of scared me; she was running around talking to all the kids. After that we went and picked out countertops for our house...fun activity for a two year old's birthday huh? Fortunately, the girls can find fun anywhere they go. After Aivree's nap and after Rob came home we went to dinner with Aivree's grandparents (Rollins and Stevenson) at the Mongolian BBQ. Here she is eating some noodles. YUM! My girls love noodles.

She had to climb on this present to open it...her water table! Her and Ani have already played with this INside. Can't wait for spring to come!
Some fun Aivree facts at two years old:
I took her to the doctor for her two year checkup and she was soo good. She is in the 13 percentile for her weight and pretty average for the rest. She had to get an immunization and I was so proud of her - she didn't even cry (so unlike her sister who cries when you say the word "shot")!
She is still so addicted to milk. I have to limit her milk intake each day (per doctor's orders) and she hates it. She would probably be fine without food as long as she could have her milk. She is just addicted to dairy; some of her favorite foods are yogurt and cottage cheese (and of course she loves ice cream).
Aivree is starting to talk so well and it's so fun to have little conversations with her. There are some things she's saying that I'm not so excited about, but for the most part she's pretty funny to listen to.
She just barely had her "last" tooth poke through, but at her doctor's appointment he said that her two year molars are next. Great! That poor girl and teething...it's like she gets an illness with each tooth that comes through.
Aivree loves to get in dresses and dance around. It's almost automatic, as soon as she gets a dress on she closes her eyes and starts moving around to some music inside her head. She just loves to dance - to any music, anytime, anywhere (church).
Obviously Aivree loves Dora - she got a Dora CD for her birthday and sings that songs all the time. I think she thinks she is Dora sometimes.
As a sort of ritual, every night Aivree lays in bed and talks/sings for awhile before falling asleep. It is so funny to hear what she says sometimes. She sings Happy Birthday, Dora songs, Twinkle Twinkle and will sometimes just talk and say random things.
Aivree adores her big sister and asks for her as soon as she wakes up. She also copies and does anything and everything Anisten does. She wants to be just like her.
She still takes one nap a day for two hours at around 2 pm. She goes to bed at night between 7:30 and 8 and usually wakes up between 7 and 8. She is such a good sleeper and rarely wakes up at night. When I go to get her out of bed she says "I sleep good!"
I haven't quite figured out her eating habits yet. Sometimes she'll eat things that I wouldn't have thought she would touch (broccoli, grilled chicken, roast) and other times she won't eat things I would've thought she would love (grilled cheese, bananas). The doctor told me they're kind of that way at this age and that I should look at what she eats during a week's time instead of day by day.
She's still wearing diapers but has tried going on the potty a few times and has done pretty good. I plan on potty training her once we get settled in our house for a bit.
Aivree is pretty hard to discipline at this point. Sometimes she likes to go to time out or she'll immediately apologize after doing something she shouldn't and just grins at me. Sometimes I yell at her or get upset at her for doing something wrong and she just smiles or laughs at me and then does it again the next day. It can get pretty frustrating. The worst is at the grocery store. She doesn't understand boundaries at this point like Ani does, but she wants to run around like Ani does. She has no fear. She can be very tiring at times.
Aivree has these irresistible big blue eyes. I just can't help but melt when she looks at me with them.
Aivree is such a joy in our family and we'd probably be pretty boring without her. We just love our buggy wuggy soo much. Happy Birthday Aivree Lou!
