Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday to Mom and Dad Stevenson! Mom's birthday is July 4th and Dad's birthday is July 6th so we got to celebrate them together (along with the other July birthdays we have in the fam: Aimee, Kina and Lexi!) Anisten made them these cute birthday crowns and was so excited to see them wear them. They were good sports too and wore them most of the day. :)

Here is the cake we got from Coldstone Creamery. We couldn't let mom make her own birthday cake!
For Mom's birthday she wanted a swingset for the grandkids and let me tell ya, they love it! Here are the girls swinging. They could swing for hours on end.

For the 5th of July we started the day out by going to the Layton Parade

Ani liked the parade (except for the loud parts) and she quickly got the hang of running to get the candy

Aivree had fun at the parade too (except for the loud sirens)

So much to see

After the parade we headed to my parents house for some swimming and playing and hanging out with family all day long. It was great.

We put Aivree down for a nap and Ani got in the pool

Aivree woke up and came to join us in the pool

Pool and swingset and cousins..it doesn't get much better than this

The girls of course made sure to get in lots of swing time (again)

As the day went on more people came and we got a volleyball game going as well as another washer toss tournament

My dad decided to make good use out of the boxes the swingset came in. As you can guess, the kids loved the boxes about as much as the swingset

They LOVED them!

We had so much fun! It was so nice to spend a relaxing day with family and enjoy the good weather, good food and the blessing of living in this great country.

On a side note, the downer to the day was that Brody had been in a bad dirtbike accident the day before the 4th and we were all a bit worried about him. He was able to come home though and so we did get to see him for a little while. So glad that you're okay and we hope you recover soon Brody!
