I took Anisten to the dentist a couple weeks ago. This was her second time going and the first didn't go so well. All the dentist did was count her teeth and she screamed the whole time. So, I tried to talk this one up before and make it sound like it was going to be fun, but it didn't help that much. She did really like the fish tank with the fish from Finding Nemo in it though (me too!)
About the only thing she would let them do is brush her teeth and then count them again.
Here she is watching Finding Nemo
Not a happy girl. She's just not too comfortable with all these strangers trying to get in her mouth. haha I can remember not enjoying the dentist when I was young either. To be honest, I still don't really like it, so I guess I can't blame her.
During our "limbo" phase (between the time of returning from our trip and moving into our rental) I had a lot of time on my hands that I wasn't sure what to do with. So, I played with my girls. Anisten and I built this cool city out of blocks. Fun stuff.
Aren't we talented?
It was pretty obvious all of this change took it's toll on Anisten. The fact that we moved to my parents and then abandoned her for a week (she really missed us while we were gone) and then came back and moved to a totally different house was kind of a lot for her to handle and it showed in her behavior. She got to where she was impossible to control and always acting out. I felt so bad for her and was mad at her at the same time. I think that once we stay here for awhile she will get better (she already has). She was missing the normalcy in her life, just like the rest of us.
Aivree on the other hand seemed oblivious for the most part to what was going on in her world. Besides the fact that she began teething the day we got home (which was actually an answer to prayers - I didn't want my mom to deal with that), she's adjusted well to all the change. Still too young for it to affect her thankfully.
While we were on our trip she conquered the stairs!! Yay! I was always so stressed whenever there was stairs around because I didn't want her to fall again. So luckily she figured it out and no more worries.
Aivree has also made huge strides with walking! Literally! haha She began standing up on her own when she turned one and then she would take little steps between us. Gradually she was able to go farther and over the past week she has decided that walking is her preferred method of "travel." So now she's all over the place. Up and down stairs and walking around and around. She's also starting to say lots of words and sounds. She's getting to be so big. I just love this age (I swear I've said that before). I'll have to get a video up of her walking.

I don't blame little Anisten for hating the dentist, I hate it too. I would rather do anything in the world than go to the dentist, I have a bazillion cavities every time I go. I bet you are so glad to be settled at least for now, moving is so stressful. That's great you could find a rental that is month to month why you look for that perfect house what a blessing.
Well...I am glad you are settled...for now. I HATE moving too, I just hated when our house was up for sale and all of that unknown stuff. Very stressful. I forgot until reading this post, that you had asked where we live. Since it sounds like you are building, I am sure you don't care now...but just in case we are in Clinton. Right next to the cemetery. Literally. There are a few things up for sale around us, but it is always hard finding something that others have lived in. Good luck with everything, sounds like you are handling it great!!
The hillbilly tooth is alot better in person
