So, this week was awesome as far as weather in Utah goes. I mean, it's April and Spring has officially begun and we get about 3 days straight of downpour whether it's rain or snow. Craziness. Well, it turns out we are about the lowest point on our whole block, so of course all the water decides to collect in our yard.
We were a bit worried about it coming into our basement, but Rob used the Skid Steer and kind of built up a dirt barricade. In fact, he was trying to create some other places for the water to go in the neighboring yard and got the Skid Steer completely stuck...but that's another story (thanks again all those who helped get us unstuck!).
So we kind of watched the water rise and made sure it didn't go in the basement. On Friday when it decided to stop raining/snowing we found out we had some guests!
Anisten loved looking at the ducks and we even threw them some bread. Turns out the lake in our backyard isn't a completely terrible thing.
We'll probably have our pond for a while longer, but it looks like there is good weather in the future so it should start to shrink a bit. Sad for the ducks, I know. We will miss them.

WOW I would say you got all the water in the neighborhood! That is crazy! Cute Anisten I love those pictures!
That's funny, it really does look like a pond out there, I bet those ducks are just built in entertainment for Anisten, my boys would love ducks in our backyard (if we had a backyard)!
Congrats on the anniversary! I hope you did have a great time, you deserve a little break! It's good your basement didn't flood, that happened a few times in our 1st house and it is NOT fun! Anyways I hear the weather is getting better there, I hope it stays that way for a while.
