The Great Outdoors

Hey, it's us. It's been awhile since I've turned the computer on and so I'm feeling a bit out of the loop. But, that's okay. Good things are happening. We went camping with the Stevenson fam over Labor day weekend and it was a blast. We went up to Lake Lyman in the Uintah's which is a favorite spot of mine because I grew up going there for girl's camp. I was so sad to have to come home to noise and laundry and life and warmth. Well, I guess the warmth wasn't too bad to come back to. Yup, we were caught up in the mountains during the big storm that hit Utah last week and it was craziness. Downright blizzard. It was nice to snuggle up in our trailers and play games and watch the snow fall. Anisten enjoyed it too (she could care less what the temperature was as long as she could play). It's a trip we look forward to every year and it was so nice to get away. To quote Anisten: "Camping! Fun!" Just to warn you: I took a ton of pictures. More than I realized, so it's a bit long.

Rob and Anisten on our walk around the lake

Our family in front of Lake Lyman (sorry it's so dark. It didn't look that dark on my camera)

Anisten in her lifejacket, getting ready to brave the canoe ride. She actually liked it (although her face doesn't look too excited)

Checkin out the canoe. We really did ride in the canoe, but I didn't get a picture of it because I was clutching on to Anisten and would not let her go until we were safely on dry ground again.

Takin a ride on the 4 wheeler. We got down the road a ways and Anisten's like "down." So, that didn't last too long. I think the loud noise is what scared her.

Rob listening to the BYU game. First game of the season (at home too!) and he was camping with his family. What a guy :)

Anisten did take a tumble (of course), but it wasn't so bad. She actually fell down kind of slowly, but then rolled over into the dirt and it just sort of stuck to her. I thought it was hilarious.

It didn't stop her moving for long

Rob fishing in the float tube on Little Lyman Lake

Here comes the rain. Even that didn't slow her down. She screamed when I took her inside

Hanging out inside while the storm raged outside

The crazies who decided to brave the storm (for a little while at least)

Anisten enjoying her portable DVD player inside out of the cold

Anisten all bundled up with Uncle Bryce. "Take me over there! I want to run!"

I could not get enough of how cute she looked all bundled up

Grandpa and Anisten in front of Little Lyman. The mist looked so cool coming off the water

Rob fishing Little Lyman. Beautiful

Anisten touched the little fish that Rob caught her to see. She's braver than I am

And that is the end of our trip. This week has definitely made me wish that we were back up in the mountains, but I'll expound upon that later. Here's a few pics of our house and these aren't even up to date. Rob's doing really well. We have walls!

Ah, this post reminded me of Girls Camp. They always told us to stay away from the water because of the leaches. I hope Rob didn't have a problem with them in his float tube. And the snow just makes for good memories.
